Remember my last korean cosmetics haul? Today I'll be reviewing one of the products I received then, the "No-Sebum Mineral Powder" by Innisfree.

I decided to order it because it had a bunch of positive reviews and it's pretty affordable, so why not? Here are the product's claims :

"A replacement for oil control paper that leaves the skin soft and matte
1. The double sebum-control system controls the secretion of sebum to keep the skin soft and fresh all day long.
2. Jeju minerals and mint control skin oil and moisture to keep skin healthy."

To start let's look at the packaging:

Recuerdan mi último pedido de cosméticos coreanos? Hoy voy a estar platicandoles de uno de los productos que recibí entonces, el "No-Sebum Mineral Powder" de Innisfree.

Me decidí a pedirlo porque tenía un montón de reseñas positivas y es bastante económico, así que ¿por qué no? Aquí esta la descripción del producto:

"Un reemplazo para el papel de control de grasa que deja la piel suave y mate
1. El sistema de doble control de sebo controla la secreción de sebo para mantener la piel suave y fresca todo el día.
2. Minerales Jeju y menta controlan el aceite y la humedad para mantener la piel sana ".

Para empezar vamos a ver en el empaque: 

As you can see, it's a pretty standard plastic case. Though it doesn't look very expensive, it does feels sturdy and not too prone to breaking. It is a bit smaller than I expected but that makes it very portable.

Inside we can find a cute and very soft puff. I have washed it already a few times and is holding up pretty well.

Como se puede ver, se trata de un estuche de plástico bastante estándar. A pesar de que no se ve muy caro, se siente resistente y no muy propenso a romperse. Es un poco más pequeño de lo que esperaba, pero eso hace que sea mas portátil.

En el interior podemos encontrar una esponjita lindo y muy suave. La he lavado ya un par de veces y se mantiene bastante bien.

The product itself is a finely milled white powder that after applied becomes completely translucent (even on my tan skin). It has a fresh herbal/minty scent that I don't mind, I actually find it pleasing and not overwhelming at all.

El producto en sí es un polvo blanco finamente molido que después de aplicado se vuelve completamente translúcido (incluso en mi piel morena). Tiene un aroma fresco a hierbas/menta que no me imolesta, en realidad me resulto agradable.

When you first put it on it's matte and has a nice velvety finish. Here I applied a bit of a very dewy foundation and then topped it with the powder so you can see the difference. On the "before" picture the foundation looks a lot lighter than my skin tone but actually it's only one shade, but it reflect lots of light because of the dewiness. On the "after" you can see that the matte effect is pretty good, there's barely any light being reflected now. As you can see, it's great for finishing and helps achieve a flattering smooth look...

Cuando lo aplicas al principio es mate y tiene un acabado aterciopelado. Aquí me apliqué un poco de una base muy dewy (brillosita) y luego usé un poco de polvo encima para que vean la diferencia. En el "antes" la base refleja mucha luz y por eso se ve mucho más clara que el color de mi piel (a pesar de ser solo un tono en realidad). En el "después" vemos como matifica muy bien y ya no refleja tanta luz. Como se puede ver, es muy bueno para el acabado del maquillaje y ayuda a lograr una apariencia uniforme... 

but it sucks at controlling oil. I don't know if I just have the oiliest nose in the world? because a lot of oily-skinned ladies were saying that this worked great for them, but it didn't at all in my case. After less than two hours and my nose was an oil slick again, which was really disappointing. I could reapply but it started getting a bit cakey.

According to their website, you can also use this as a primer and to control hair oil, but I haven't tried this personally.

 
pero no es nada bueno controlando la grasa. No sé si yo tendré la nariz más grasosa en el mundo? pero a mi no me funcionó nada, y eso que leí comentarios de muchas chicas con piel grasosa también que les encantó. Después de menos de dos horas mi nariz estaba completamente brillosa de nuevo, lo cual fue muy decepcionante. Podía volver a aplicarlo pero se empezaba a ver mal, muy obvio.

Según su sitio web también se puede utilizar como primer o para controlar la grasa del cuero cabelludo, aunque yo no lo he probado en esto. 

In conclusion,  think that despite the poor oil control this product works great as a finishing powder. It really smooths the surface and makes everything look more polished and airbrushed. If you have normal skin this might work great preventing the "normal" shine in the summer, etc. but for oily to very oily I wouldn't recommend it at all for oil control.

En conclusión, creo que a pesar del mal control del brillo este producto funciona muy bien como un polvo de acabado. Realmente perfecciona la superficie de la piel. Si tienes piel normal, este podría funcionarte para prevenir el brillo "normal" en el verano, etc., pero para pieles grasas no lo recomendaría en absoluto dado que no te controlará nada. 

I got mine from W2Beauty for $9.29 usd so this is a super affordable option if you wan to try something new. You can also get it at ebay or other online retailers, but I really like W2Beauty's kind customer service and generous amount of free samples.
