Hello! Today I'll be reviewing and comparing two very affordable drugstore foundations: Revlon's Colorstay in 330 Natural Tan and L'oréal's True Match Super Blendable in W4 Natural Beige.

For reference, I'm around an NC30-NC35 in MAC foundations with strong yellow undertones. I have normal skin with a very oily nose area.

Let's start with the Colorstay foundation:

¡Hola! Hoy voy a reseñar y comparar dos bases de maquillaje muy económicas: Colorstay de Revlon en 330 Natural Tan y True Match Super Blendable de L'oréal en W4 Natural Beige.

Como referencia, yo soy alrededor de un tono NC30-NC35 en MAC con fuertes tonos amarillos. Tengo piel normal con un área grasa en la nariz.

Comencemos con Colorstay:

I picked the combination/oily version (there's one for normal/dry skin too). The bottle is made of glass and has a pump which works nicely. This foundation has SPF so keep it in mind in case you're planning to take photos with flash though it's low.

I got the shade 330 Natural Tan hoping it would be yellow enough for me but it leans more to the neutral side. Sadly it's too orange and dark for me. Here are some swatches in natural light:

Escogí la versión combination/oily para piel grasa(hay una para piel normal/seca también). La botella es de vidrio y tiene un pump que funciona muy bien. Esta base tiene SPF por lo que tenganlo en cuenta en caso de que esten planeando tomar fotos con flash.

Compré el tono 330 Natural Tan esperando que fuera lo suficientemente amarillo para mí, pero se inclina más hacia lo neutral. Lamentablemente es demasiado naranja y oscura para mí. Aquí hay algunas muestras en luz natural:

The texture is very creamy and blends well, though it dries fast. The coverage is medium to high and it provides matte finish that doesn't look flat but relatively natural for a high coverage foundation. The oil control is the best I have tried until now, though it doesn't last all day with powder on top it can go for a few hours nicely. It worked well on my normal areas without drying. A primer under it doesn't improves it performance much, it actually results in a very cakey appearance (I tried it with my Liole primer).

Now let's talk abut the True Match foundation. This one comes in a small glass bottle without a pump. The opening is wide so it's very hard to pour the amount you want making it extremely annoying and messy.

La textura es muy cremosa y se esparce bien, aunque seca rápidamente. La cobertura es media a alta y proporciona un acabado mate que no se ve "plano" sino relativamente natural para una base de alta cobertura. El control de grasa es el mejor que he probado hasta ahora, aunque no dura todo el día con polvo encima puede durar por unas horas muy bien. Funcionó bien en mis áreas normales sin secarse. Con primer debajo no mejora su rendimiento mucho, en realidad resulta en un aspecto muy cakey (lo probé con mi primer Liole).

Ahora hablemos sobre la base True Match. Ésta viene en una botella de cristal pequeña sin pump. La apertura es muy amplia por lo que es muy difícil verter la cantidad deseada haciendolo extremadamente molesto y desordenado.

This foundation also got SPF but again it's low. I got the shade W4 Natural Beige and though it has yellow on it as it claims by being a warm shade, it's still not enough for me because of my very strong undertones. This is sadly too light for my skin and it look a bit too pink. If you have a truly neutral skin tone this might be too yellow for you though.

Esta base también tiene SPF pero es bajo. Tengo el tono W4 Natural Beige y aunque tiene amarillo en ella como se afirma por ser un tono cálido, todavía no es lo suficiente para mí debido a que soy aún más amarilla. Es tristemente demasiado clara para mi piel y se ve un poco demasiado rosa. Sin embargo, si su tono de piel es neutral esta será demasiado amarilla para ustedes.

This foundation is a bit more runny and despite it's claims to be easy to blend I found it kind of streaky. The coverage is light to medium and the finish is very natural and slightly satin-y. This foundation has very fine golden shimmer only visible in the bottle, after applying it's not noticeable on the skin at all.

This foundation doesn't has strong claims regarding oil control and indeed it's not very good at it even with powder on top.

Regarding price it varies widely depending on where you get it, but in general the Colortay is almost the double in price to the True Match.

To conclude:
Colorstay is great at oil control and has high coverage without looking cakey on its own, but doesn't work that well with primers underneath as it starts looking thick. It is a bit expensive for a drugstore foundation but I think it's worth if your shade is available, sadly not my case so I wouldn't buy it again.

True Match has a nice variety of colors, this is one of the yellowest foundations I've seen in drugstore foundations. It works great in normal skin, not so much in oily. Despite claiming to be very blendable I found it quite streaky so I had to be careful applying it. For the very low price I would recommend to give it a try, you might like it.

Esta base es un poco más líquida y a pesar de las afirmaciones de ser fácil de esparcer me pareció que se tiene que trabajar cuidadosamente. La cobertura es ligera a media y el acabado es muy natural y ligeramente satinado. Esta base tiene brillos dorado muy finos sólo visibles en la botella, después de aplicar no es notable en la piel en absoluto.

Esta base no tiene afirmaciones fuertes sobre el control de aceite y de hecho no es muy bueno en esto, incluso con polvo encima.

En cuanto al precio (que varía ampliamente dependiendo de donde se las adquieran) la Colortay cuesta casi el doble que la True Match, por lo general.

Para concluir:
La colorstay es muy buena en el control de la grasa y tiene alta cobertura sin verse pesada al usarse por si sola, pero no trabaja  bien con primers debajo ya que comienza a verse gruesa. Es un poco cara para una base de super, pero creo que vale la pena si su tono está disponible, lamentablemente no es mi caso por lo que no la compraría de nuevo.

True Match tiene una buena variedad de colores, esta es una de las bases más amarillas que he visto en el rango de los super. Funciona muy bien en la piel normal, no tanto en grasa. A pesar de pretender ser muy esparcible la encontré bastante batallosa, tenía que tener cuidado aplicándola. Por el precio muy bajo recomendaría probarlo, quizás te guste. 

Hello! Today I have a makeup review for you, I'll be talking about the Tosowoong MakeOn Dual Shaking Lip Tints that I have been testing recently.

What Tosowoong claims:
"Dual shaking lip tint offers you a great plumping effect with long-lasting color. The natural ingredients (Avocado oil) provide you tender and healthy lips. Extremely soft and ergonomic tip is perfect for your sensitive lips and prevents your lips from external damages."

The tints came in cardboard boxes. I got the three colors available:  #01 Orange,  #02 Vampire and #03 Blood.

¡Hola! Hoy les traigo una reseña de maquillaje, les platicaré sobre las Dual Shaking Lip Tints de Tosowoong MakeOn.

Lo Tosowoong afirma:
"Tinta de labios dual que ofrece un efecto voluminizador con color de larga duración. Los ingredientes naturales (aceite de aguacate) te ofrecerán labios sanos y tersos. Punta extremadamente suave y ergonómica que es perfecta para labios sensibles y evita daños externos."

Los tintas llegaron en cajas de cartón. Tengo los tres colores disponibles: #01 Orange,  #02 Vampire y #03 Blood.

Here are the bottles themselves, they're clear and made from sturdy plastic. You can see that the tint is separated in two parts, you're supposed to shake it to mix them together and then it would be ready to apply.

Aquí están las botellitas, son transparentes y están hechas de plástico resistente. Pueden ver que la tinta se separa en dos partes, que se supone que hay que agitarla para mezclarlas entre sí y luego que estaría lista para aplicar.

The tip is very soft and makes the tint very easy to apply because it's sharp for precise lines but at the same time large enough to cover your lips quickly.

La punta es muy suave y hace muy fácil el aplicar la tinta ya que es delgada para líneas precisas pero al mismo tiempo lo suficientemente grande como para cubrir los labios rápidamente.

The tint on itself is very liquid-y (just as water) and spreads and mixes easily. Here's before and after shaking (from left to right: #01 Orange,  #02 Vampire and #03 Blood):

La tinta es muy líquida (como agua) y se extiende y mezcla fácilmente. He aquí el antes y después de agitar (de izquierda a derecha: #01 Orange,  #02 Vampire and #03 Blood):

The colors are sheer but they can be build up to very bright with a few layers, perfect for the gradient effect. #01 Orange as you might guess is a bright, lively pure orange. #02 Vampire is a bright warm red shade, slightly orange-ish. #03 Blood is a kind of a cool burgundy, not very saturated. Shades #02 and #03 work well in my tan skin and look like they could work in most skin tones. Since I'm very yellow myself #01 didn't work on me, it looks like it could work better on paler skin with neutral undertones.

Los colores son medio transparentes pero pueden ser más ópacos con varias capas, perfecto para el efecto ombre. #01 Orange es un vivo color naranja puro y brillante. #02 Vampire es un tono rojo brillante cálido, ligeramente anaranjado. #03 Blood es un tono borgoña frío, no muy saturado. Los tonos #02 y #03 van bien con mi piel morena y creo que les favorecerían a la mayoría de las personas. Ya que soy muy amarillosa el #01 no me funcionó, creo que le sentaría mejor a alguien de tez más neutra y clara.

Swatches:

Something that made me curious is that in the packaging it says that this is a "spicy lipgloss". It's actually spicy! You can feel some kind of tingles on your lips when you first apply it which is supposed to give you the lip-plumping effect but I couldn't see any changes on the matter. On terms of lasting power I'd say it's pretty average, good but not outstanding. It very barely survived a good meal.

Here's a test I did, first image (from left to right) is after applying, second is after scrubbing with water and last is after using a cleanser.

Una cosa que me daba curiosidad es que en el empaque decía ser un "lipgloss picante" y en realidad lo es de cierta manera. Se puede sentir una especie de hormigueo en los labios cuando te lo aplicas, se supone que es lo que da el efecto voluminizador pero yo no noté ningún cambio visible. En términos de duración diría que es bastante promedio, bueno pero no excepcional. Muy apenas sobrevivió una buena comida.

He aquí una prueba que hice, la primera imagen (de izquierda a derecha) es después de la aplicación, la segunda después de frotar con agua y la última es después de usar un limpiador.

These lip tints apply evenly but they tend to stain more the insides of the lips and little cuts just like most tints so exfoliate well before using. Also I found that the tint doesn't work as well in my top lip where my skin seems a bit thicker, it did stain but not as much and as easily as in my bottom one.

It doesn't really have a prominent smell but it does tastes a bit minty.

Estas tintas se aplican de manera uniforme pero tienden a teñir más la parte interior de los labios y los pequeños cortes como muchas otras tintas por lo que recomendaría exfoliar bien antes. También encontré que el tinte no funciona tan bien en mi labio superior donde mi piel es un poco más gruesa, si tiñe pero no tanto y tan fácilmente como en mi labio inferior.

No tiene un aroma prominente pero tiene un sabor a menta.

To conclude:

✔ What I like:
Very easy to use, cute colors, not drying despite the matte finish, very affordable.

✖ What I don't like:
I wish it lasted longer, the plumping effect wasn't noticeable.

♥ Who might (or not) like it:
If you like tints this is a very affordable one to try out. I would recommend it to people who like a fully absorbed look (not glossy at all) or who would like to do the ombre or gradient look very popular in Korea. You might need to reapply after eating but it's the standard with most tints I've tried.

Si te gustan las tintas esta es una muy económica para probar. La recomendaría si te gusta un acabado completamente absorbido (mate, sin brillo) o quieres intentar el look ombre difuminado popular en Corea. Es posible que tengas que volver a aplicar después de comer, pero es lo común con la mayoría de las tintas que he probado.
