Hi! Today I'll be talking about the Snail Bee High Content Steam Cream from Benton. If you're into korean cosmetics you have probably already heard of them, their products are quite popular online.

I was attracted to this cream because it "contains 90% snail extract and bee venom instead of water. Powerful ingredients such as snail mucin and bee venom help to heal acne, fade acne scars, brighten skin tone, and maintain hydration throughout the day. Snail mucin supports natural cell regeneration and replenishes moisture to increase firmness, and bee venom has natural anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral properties". Sounds good, doesn't it?

I had never heard the term steam cream before but apparently "steam creams are blended using high temperatures and steam technology, which increases the efficacy of the formula".

The cream came packaged in a cardboard box. It comes in a 50 g. tube and the packaging seems pretty minimalist and straightforward.

Me sentí atraída por esta crema ya que "contiene un 90% de extracto de caracol y veneno de abeja en lugar de agua. Ingredientes de gran alcance, tales como la mucina caracol y el veneno de abeja ayudan a curar el acné, desaparecer las cicatrices, aclarar el tono de la piel y mantener la hidratación durante todo el día. La mucina de caracol apoya la regeneración celular natural y repone la humedad para aumentar la firmeza y el veneno de abeja tiene propiedades anti-inflamatorias, anti-bacterianas y anti-virales naturales ". Suena bien, no?

Nunca había oído el término de "steam cream" antes (cream al/de vapor), pero aparentemente estas "se mezclan utilizando altas temperaturas y tecnología de vapor, lo que aumenta la eficacia de la fórmula".

La crema vino empaquetada en una caja de cartón. La presentación es en un tubo de 50 gr. y el empaque parece bastante minimalista y sencillo.

The cream has a very faint smell that fades completely after applied. The texture seems like a point in between very creamy/milky and a gel. It's very easy to blend and absorbs quickly.

I have normal skin and this is moisturizing enough to be the only product I use after washing my face. In the summer I just apply it more moderately to not get oily. Great to use by itself hen you're in a hurry. I think it will be appropriate for dry to oily skin but not for very oily or very dry.

La crema tiene un olor muy leve que desaparece por completo después de aplicarse. La textura es como un punto intermedio entre algo muy cremoso y un gel. Es muy fácil de aplicar y se absorbe rápidamente.

Tengo piel normal y esta crema es lo suficientemente hidratante para ser el único producto que utilizo después de lavarse la cara. En el verano la aplico de forma más moderada para no terminar grasosa. Es genial para cuando tienes prisa y solo puedes usar pocos productos. Creo podría ser apropiada para piel de seca a grasa pero no para muy seca o muy grasa.

It doesn't leave any prominent residue after it absorbs, no shiny finish either.

Despite my good first impressions I couldn't keep using this for more than a week because it broke me out even when I have no acneic tendencies (I only get a few tiny pimples during me period if all). From what I read online I was considering it as a possibility since the general opinion seems to be that this either becomes your holy grail or breaks you out to death. Well, sadly I enter in the second category. After using this for a few days I started to see some pimples, they looked like the ones I usually get but in a few more days they became huge, painful and at least twice as more. This was the only new product I introduced in my skincare routine so I stopped using it and it took like 1-2 weeks for my skin to get back to normal. Can't deny I was kinda bummed because I really wanted to try this for longer :(

Now, my mom (normal mature skin) had a totally different experience. She wanted to try it so I gave it to her and she fell in love. She had a few age spots and according to her they faded a bit after using the whole tube.

In conclusion, I'd say give this a try. It's affordable and from its ingredients it seems that it could benefit all skin types and lots of common issues. There's some people that break out from it but also a lot that love it but I think that happens with all products, just be sure to patch test and not introduce anything else at the same time.

A pesar de mis buenas primeras impresiones no pude seguir usandola por más de una semana porque me genero acne incluso cuando no tengo tendencias acnéicas (solo me sale uno que otro granito alrededor de mi periodo). Por lo que he leído en línea lo estaba considerando como una posibilidad ya que la opinión general parece ser que o la amas o la odias. Por desgracia yo entro en la segunda categoría. Después de usarla un par de días empecé a ver algunas espinillas, no eran como las de siempre si no mucho más grandes, dolorosas y mínimo el doble en cantidad. Este fue el único producto nuevo que introduje en mi rutina de cuidado de la piel asi que lo dejé de usar y le tomó a mi piel 1-2 semanas regresar a la normalidad. No puedo negar que me fastidió un poco porque realmente quería probarla durante más tiempo :(

Ahora, mi madre (piel madura normal) tuvo una experiencia totalmente diferente. Ella quería probarla así que se la obsequié y se enamoró. Tenía un par de manchas por la edad y me comenta que notó algo de desvanecimiento para cuando se acabo el tubo.

En conclusión, yo recomendaría probarla. Es económica y por sus ingredientes parece que podría beneficiar a todos los tipos de piel y a un montón de problemas comunes. Todos los productos pueden generar reacciones diferentes (ya sean buenas o malos), solo asegurate de no introducirla junto con otros productos para que puedas ver la reacción claramente sin revolverte.
